Now this is it, I know this is going to have a successful, victorious, happy ending but I don’t know how yet, I don’t know what the process I would go through before the end looks like yet. So I’m going to tell you how it all began and how it is progressing now, then leave the other part for God to complete. Because this story, is still in progress…
Out of my desire to reach out to people via the media, I decided to build a media agency. But as some people say, ‘one step at a time’, and that’s exactly what I did. The first step I took was to create a website. The process began and oh boy, it wasn’t easy! But I pressed on. I reached out to friends and acquaintances who had good knowledge and expertise skills on it.
Of course, the issue of finance came up. It wasn’t easy, especially because of how the year 2020 was economically for virtually everyone. Nevertheless, ‘where your treasure is, is where your heart will be’, so to be certain that my heart was in this project, I willingly had to put my money into it. I had to do a little running around, putting together the little I had here and there to finance the initial stage of creating the website.
Aside the financial issue, there were other man-made obstacles. This caused a delay in the process of creation and launch of the website. But trust God to always grant us wisdom to tackle all issues of life. I also cannot fail to mention and appreciate Mr Lucky Babuje whose effort at this stage contributed immensely to the growth of this agency. He was there to buy the domain name and take care of the hosting.
And then came the time to name this project. The inspiration behind the name JesNaija came after many failed attempts to use other names that were unknowingly already registered by other persons. Joseph is my name. My nickname is Jes. I’m Nigerian and automatically, Nigeria is my first point of coverage before I reach out to the world. So when my very good friend, Mr Lucky Babuje, suggested, why not merge these facts? I thought about it and bought the idea; and it was from there the name JesNaija was birthed. Good to point out the name was accepted at once! No stress again.
This story will not be complete if I don’t emphasis on the fact that ‘blood is thicker than water’, and this came to life in my story. My brother, Ebuga John Saduna, was there from the beginning and is still here. He was of great help especially when the man-made obstacles were seeming impossible to conquer and this, I do not take for granted.
After the whole drama and other little obstacles that JesNaija went through for about a year, JesNaija was finally launched on Sunday, March 1, 2020. Its first blog post was also published on that day. And ever since then, it’s been from glory to glory to glory. First it was receiving about a thousand (1,000) visitors on the page in a week, but now the number of weekly visitors have skyrocketed to 16-20 thousand. And all of these growth happened within a year!
About the team working behind the scenes to make JesNaija function properly, of course, people come and go. Especially when they are not willing to work or they probably were not meant to be a part of the vision. But we still have a bunch of good and hardworking persons with us, striving hard in their different fields to accomplish this goal. And to:
-Joseph Ebuga Saduna (Jes)
CEO, Blogger/content creator
-Isuwa Emmanuel (Legent)
Media Director, Blogger/Content creator
-Anzaku Thomas (Thomzzy)
Memer, content creator
-Audu Precious (Justice)
-Lilian Noyama Elijah (Lilly)
-Ebuga John Saduna (John’es)
Managing Director/Blogger/Content Creator
-Daniel Jeremiah Rhigwo (Mc Daniel)
Editor/Front Man/Media/Content Creator
…I just want to let you guys know that we will definitely achieve our goal.
More programs and mini projects have been planned and will be carried out in no sooner time. I hope those who are meant to or would love to be a part of this vision will partner with us, so we could accomplish more greater things and build this media agency with standard departments, including:
- Programmatic Media
- Search Engine Marketing
- Search Engine Optimization
- Mobile Marketing
- Video Marketing
- Video Marketing
- Social Media Marketing
- Affiliate / Performance Marketing
- Out of Home
As I mentioned earlier, this story is still in progress and so I leave it in now in the hands of the Chief Author, God…
