BREAKING NEWS: Court Approves INEC’s Request To Reconfigure BVAS

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been given
permission by the Court of Appeal in Abuja to modify
the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for the governorship
and state house of assembly polls.

The reasoning behind Wednesday’s decision was that the data on the BVAS computers
would be uploaded into a secure back-end server.

Peter Obi, a candidate for the Labour Party (LP), asked the court to
issue an order prohibiting INEC, the first respondent, from altering
the data stored in the BVAS machines until a proper inspection has
been performed and certified true copies (CTC) of them have been issued.
